Actions

GRACE guides regions through a three-step journey to boost climate resilience: understand their challenges, co-create and test solutions, and spread what works to other communities.

Region Characterisation & Visioning

This first phase focuses on understanding each region’s unique climate challenges, strengths, and vulnerabilities. GRACE works with local communities to gather knowledge, map risks, and explore available resources. Through participatory activities, regions co-create a shared vision that will guide their climate adaptation journey.

Identifying, Selecting & Demonstrating Adaptation Options

Once regions understand their needs, they move on to reviewing and choosing the most suitable climate adaptation solutions, especially nature-based approaches. These options are tested in real settings by the demonstrator regions, turning plans into action. This phase is all about experimenting, learning, and showing what works on the ground.

Scaling-Up and Scaling-Out

After solutions have been demonstrated, GRACE supports regions in expanding their use, both within the same territory (scaling-up) and across other rural and remote areas (scaling-out). Knowledge exchange, capacity building, and peer-to-peer learning help other communities adopt successful solutions and adapt them to their own contexts.
