The Vidzeme Planning Region in northern Latvia is characterised by forests, wetlands, and small rural settlements. Climate change poses growing challenges for local ecosystems, forestry, agriculture, and water management.
Within GRACE, Vidzeme will replicate and adapt solutions developed in the demonstrator regions to strengthen regional resilience. Particular attention will be given to ecosystem-based adaptation, sustainable land management, and improved governance mechanisms for climate action.
By engaging regional authorities, communities, and research institutions, GRACE will support Vidzeme in integrating climate adaptation into local development strategies.
